Today we lost the most amazing pony to ever come into my life.
Hutch rang me as I was finishing at work to say something was wrong with Flynn. He said he couldn't walk. Originally I thought maybe he was having a lami attack I now wish that was what it was.
Unfortunately Chloe's beautiful pony had been kicked on his knee suffering multiple fractures, and had damaged his joint.
I am devastated, he would have been here a year next month. We have had some amazing times over the last year and he has given me my confidence with jumping, taking me round my first ever proper jump course.
He has taught several girls to ride, been a fantastic share pony to two girls and was very loved by everyone who came across him.
We managed a 37 mile ride in the summer which we were planning on completing without getting a lift home this summer. I had started looking at dressage competitions for him.
He didn't suffer, when I arrived he was standing up weight baring on all 4 so I originally thought it couldn't be so bad. He wasn't stressed as far as he was concerned it hurt when he tried to walk so he just didn't bother.
He was a model patient whilst the vet fiddled around with him he tried so hard not to make too much fuss.
Once he was gone I txt all the girls and I have never yet had so many people come to say goodbye to a pony it really was so overwhelming.
So to the most amazing pony I have known, it really was a pleasure and a privilege to have known you your whole life, and to finally get to call you my own pony, you were the first pony I brought because you were good, every other pony has been brought because they are naughty. The first pony I have had who worked their way into so many people's hearts and you will be very very sadly missed by everyone who got to meet you, look after Bailey up there and we will see you again.xxxxxx
