My daughter would like to become a riding instructor but doesnt know what courses she would need to do.
She has completed her NVQ1 and NVQ2 in horsecare and she is doing her BHS1 soon. What else does she need.

Did she do NVQ in riding? If so she possibly can skip some of the stages, but if not BhS stage 1 2 and PTT makes you a PTC which is the lowest you can be to be insured, you also have to do first aid and child protection then you can do stage 3 to be an BHSAI there are also UKCCs now which is incorparted into the PTT but there are other societies that run them eg dressage UKCC is run by BD the BHS one is just generic, all the exma syllabus and material is on the BHS website
I would recommend a few BHS books on exma technoique and the exmainers handbook and perhaps some lessons with an examiner

Just to add you can be insured to teach with no qualifications and just experience - although the premiums will increase!

The price is much much higher though and difficult to get, unless your a mega reputation rider then i think really you need to be getting qualified

yes she did the whole NVQ1 and 2 in horsecare and riding,
She enjoys helping out the kids at our yard with their riding

She can bypass stage one and 2 as she has her NVQ 2. I did my NVQ2 and could have done my stage 3 but having not done any BHS exams I thought it would be a good idea to do my stage 2, which i did and passed. I've trained for stage 3 and PTT but havent done the exams.
As CityLights said really, the BHS exam system has changed a bit since I did my exam!

She can jump in at stage 3 because she has the NVQ but if she fails will have to start from stage 1 again i would possibly do the stage 2 now if possible, but i do think its better to have them all anyway it looks better on a CV
but the exepmtion depends on what the modules were, if you want to try skip some then ring up BHS, they are very friendly and find out if she can skip one of them just easier with cost, ive done NVq and BHS stages becasue i didnt do the riding so had to do all the stages, unfortuantely you cant be exempt from just the care sides as far as i am aware
