I have been toying with this for ages, I finally renewed the girls memberships for pony club. Trouble is we have no transport so I rang them and I was told they can join a centre rather than a branch until my transport is sorted out again (not likely to be honest as I don't want to buy a towing car).
Mae, my ex' hubbys stepdaughter is also coming with us and so is Ellie my friends daughter! They joined last weekend and are all ready saying they don't want to go back to a branch!
I forgot how much they enjoyed PC in the old days when we had money and it was so nice to see them all trundle off down the yard for assessment, I have had to buy new sweaters as their old ones are tiny!!! Jessie has been told she can't join until she is 6 in November which was gutting as she would love it.
So the Wheely Moor kids are now back in pony club and itsnice to be back in there as a mum too lol!

Brill, its probably a good move for Tori as well if shes still working with horses once she gets to teaching Pony Clubs tend to recruit from inside the organsiation so she may end up with some good teaching work
I cant get any teaching work off them becasue i left when i was about 15 and now i cant rejoin becasue they wont let me have a stallion so cant go

That's brilliant!
Although, I was in a center for 4years before I started sharing Donny, so I joined a branch and I wouldn't go back to a center! I found a center too b****y, whereas the branch isn't because everyone has their own :)

lovely!!
I have been toying with this idea for my niece. I was going to get her a pc membership for her birthday so she could do it with B. But then after everything that happened with him I kinda decided I wanted to be selfish and keep him all to myself!!! (not that I mind her coming up to have the odd ride on him) Also after seeing her ride a wee rs pony in a lesson, she got on so well and looked so good on something smaller.
But now I have the problem of my nephew (who also rode at the rs) becoming a bit keen!
It's all so much money!!
What is the whole deal with centre membership??? Do they ride with the branch kids too or is it something totaly seperate???

centres are more sort of like riding school clubs, ususally the kids in centres dont have thier own ponies or cant get to rallies etc, so they are pony clubs run more like riding school clubs but they can still do the pony club badges, comps tests etc

centre membership is great to see if kids really want a pony too as they have to learn about horse care and have a ride usually one in four weeks. I actually wish we had done centre membership first as they seem to be taking it in more than when we used to go to branch, I also found branch was too bitchy and Lizzie in particular got bullied by a group of girls because she was such a nervous rider which was why I stop taking them. In the RS they seem much happier. They can still go to camp and we have asked and they have said if I can get transport they are welcome to take their own ponies for that week.
