*Not Selling*

Was just wondering as I just saw the *Sell me your horse post* and I put 1500 for him.

He is 15yrs old, 14.1h.h. Welsh Section D Gelding. Good to load, catch, shoe, box, clip. Good with company out hacking but not very good on his own can be spooky with tractors and flying bags lol!

He jumps around 1m - 1m20 at home, and has done chase me charlies up to 1m15 he has cleared and loves puissances which he gets placed high at. He does 2ft6 show jumping as he is very spooky in the arena. Cross country h loves and clears every thing, include ditches, water, banks etc. Has hunted once and loved it was at the front of the hunt.

He does novice dressage and gets around 66%. He very good at home with his lateral work inclu shoulder in, leg yeild, walk to canter trans, reinback, walk pioettes and flying changes. Super pony and could do well in dressage with a rider who loves to do dressage.

Beginners have ridden Jake round on their own, and even 5 - 8yr old children. Very good with nervous riders in the school but will need confident rider to jump and hack out as he does not have much confidence.

Well, he would make someone a fantastic horse, he looks reliable. I think the type of buyer would be a fun loving teen who does some comps and wants to progress without getting overhorsed, if you see what i mean. The only fault would probally be the slight spooky/confidence issue which you mentioned and his age.
I would estima around £3,000 now and £2,500 as he gets a bit older over the next few years, however his price would probs go up and down anyway.
But i suppose a horse is only worth as much as anyone would pay. Although he looks in good health and capable of full work, unfortunatly over the next few years his age might be against him, some buyers are just agest to any horse over like, 16. Saying that, i would buy a 22 year old if he/she was capable of what i wanted and i could look after him in old age.
Has he had a good comp record, (this would boost his price)?
Jake is lovely though!

I'm probs way out, as i've never bought a horse anyway:(

jake just does unaff shows but has won prelim tests and always gets placed him in novice but not come first yet. Only done 1 cross country event and won it. Show jumping he can win it and has done many of times but he can be spooky or nappy at first jumps and jumps near the gate and has got eliminated many times this year but is starting to get better.

He is very good at showing and has won M&M and Ridden pony.

He's worth a lot more than 1.5k! I'd say up to 3k.

Ponies that have been there, done that are worth their weight in gold, he's similar to cinders and we got just over 2k for her and she was not far off 19 when i sold her! x
