Any advice gratefully recieved...

Here's the problem:

I am stiff on the right rein. I truly belive this fault lies with me and not the horse(s) I ride. Unless a horse is very well schooled (like those I've ridden in my lessons) I always find they go better for me on the left rein than the right. I can't beieve that it can be entirely the fault of the horse, what are the odds of ALL horses being better on the left?

I think that because i'm stronger on the right I'm blocking that side compared to the left.

So what can I do to help myself?

Horses are generally better on the left, this is because we tend to do everything from the left - i.e mounting from the left, leading generally from the left and all those little things does tend to make it so horses are better on the left rein - I think there's also something about their general anatomy helping that aswell but I can't really remember.
So it may well be that the horses aren't helping that side if you also have difficulty with it generally.

The main thing that's really going to help is just lots of work on that rein, like anything the more you do it the easier it gets - and just like the horses it will help produce more even muscle build up to help you on that rein if you find it hard.

I don't think many people are equally balanced hun. I have a similar issue and have just start body balance classes at the gym. Can't believe how much stronger my right leg is compared to the left.

Try something like that or yoga. Once you know exactly where the weakness lies you can work on it at home with one of those gym balls.

Does that help?

Thanks both.

I think I might borrow my ma and pa's Wii fit and try the yoga. The board shows you how your weight is distributed so I can find my faults and work on them.
