What cream do you use on your horses cuts and grazes, I use dermasolve from robinsons, I love it! It does for any cuts etc plus mud fever (which Vel has just started with again )

I know a lot of you use sudocream but anyone else recomend a proper horse cream?

Like you've just said sudacream, I did use a cream, it was anti something, it was yellow inside, that worked pretty well but can't for the life of me remember what it was called. I have used human stuff before it works just as good.

I've always used Gold Label Wonder Gel for everything from cuts/grazes to rubs/bald patches, it's great stuff. It smells lovely too.

I use 'Active Manuka Honey' on most wounds after washing with saline solution. The honey is anti bacterial and also produces natural hydrogen peroxide when put on the skin so generates oxygen which helps the wound to heal faster.

Sudacrem made the hair on one of my horses legs grow back white, even on a tiny cut, so i never ever use it, i tend to use Aloe Vera gel on most cut and its really good, also use arnica cream, Green Oils is good, but for mud fever i would use like E45 or Savlon

I use the same as Loubylou (Green Oils) but it is very harsh stuff so you have to be careful with it. I use it the first time I apply anything to a wound (after washing), then the next time I will give it a good wash and use Aloe Vera Gel instead until healed, much kinder :)

I used to use intrasite gel or aloe vera on little scraps and such likes, both were fab but I'm a serious fan of the intrasite gel - amazing stuff! xx

I keep Battle anti-bacterial cream in my first aid kit (the yellow stuff), but I also like wound powder as I find it stays on well.

It really depends on where the cut is, for Johns wound, a 7 inch hole in his armpit you could get both hands up inside, no creams or lotions were used at all. In 8 weeks it was 100% healed having used no potions. There's no scar at all. The vet specifically said do not put any creams on it.

If we do use creams we use dermagel or purple spray.

Purple spray is a big favourite of mine - will only apply a cream if it is really needed. A big favourite is good old Sudocrem

Other gels are i use, Dermolene, Septiclense, Vetalintex and Vetguard - all work fab

My main thing is careful and correct washing followed by purple spray :)
Have used sudacrem in the past too
