Just wondering what song or songs in particular go well when riding your horse to music?
Have you got a favourite song to ride to?

So it's a really dorky song, but "Step into Christmas" by Elton John works brilliantly for Domino's trot. The day I decided he would work out, that came on the radio while I was trotting and I felt him change his stride to fit the music better :D
Spinning Wheel by Blood, Sweat and Tears
I Want You Back by The Jackson Five
Circus by Britney Spears
Sherry by Frankie Valli
A Little Less Conversation by Elvis
Gimme Three Steps by Lynyrd Skynyrd
One Love by Bob Marley
I'm very musically oriented when I ride... hehe.

I've never done a dressage to musci test with my own music, I've done two but to music provided. Next year I'm going to have a go at putting together my own music. I've read up all about it in a Carl Hester book so think I know what I'm doing.
What I do know is that music that suits one horse will more than likely not suit another. It's all about the individual horse and their strides and rhythm. Are you looking at doing something?

We did a christmas drill ride a few years back in december, it was to a christmas song and I can't remember what, it made Spock want to canter and canter!!

Simply the best, is used SO much in DTM, but id be original and go for other things
I used part of the upbeat track of 'Kisses and Cake' for walk, although you'd really need to match it to your own horse!
And because im awesome, ive also used 'Here it goes again' by OK go for canter. It worked, but i dont think every horse could do it XD [note we were supposed to use 'different' music :D]

I am really sad and listen to CD's in the car when I'm driving and think whether the music would go with my girls paces. Used to ride a big grey called Judd who you could do a collected sitting trot to the floral dance on. Dancing in the moonlight by toploader with one of mine.

Depends on your horse, we have a CD of the scores from adverts, i tend to end up using the song that was on the guiness galloping horses ad, i think its called fat planet? and the song off on of the magnum adverts i think it was slip into something comfortable
i have used eve of the war from war of the worlds and it does work really quite well
ideally you dont want words on the songs as it distracts people from the horse
if you want to do some music goldwave is a very handy programme and it saves holding the microphone up to the cd player to tape your bits
