Hi This is Horsemads Mum daughter (im quickly using my mums account for my worrying friend)
My Friend's Horse doesn't seem right today. The Horse isn't eating his hay, and didnt eat much of his food, she said that he has lost some weight and that his nose was running she said the stuff that came from his nose was clear.
She said she wormed her horse three months ago.

She is planning on the ringing the Vet a.s.a.p
But does anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

okay Thankyou

Could be choke, may need to be tubed.
Is he really depressed as in doesnt want to be touched etc or does he just look ill.

We have an arab at our yard who hasn't eaten for two days, she also has a runny nose and sloppy poo. The vet has been out today but not sure what the outcome was - she certainly looked brighter tonight though.

Hope it is nothing serious

I hope it's nothing serious. My horse, Basil, was off his food all day yesterday and he's suddenly dropped condition too, he did the same last year for about a week, then picked up again. We had to put him onto a conditioning mix.

Hope your friends horse is OK.

It could be a virus, I hope the horse recovers fast.

Sounds like he has a bit of cold. What is his temperature? However she is right to get the vet. Let us know what it was.
