Can trec be done with youngsters? and in hand? There is a course nearby and i fancied taking Vinnie to in and doing as much as i could in hand. could i do this??

i doubt it, you have to ride the control of paces, but you could ask if theres sufficient time they may let you take him round at the end..we had one last week and it was very busy, started at 10 finished at 6.30
some trecs are very quiet so it would depend

Trec is usually under saddle althoug there is the odd element that you might have to lead for like leading them over obstilces but usually almost all under saddle
other than handy horse type classes there isnt much to do, at the national appy show there is a class called in hand trail whcih was for baby horses and was much like an obsticle course, kizzie did really well at it

we had about 4 unmounted obstacles but its not an inhand class you could go HC and just lead him round for experience but it will depend on th organisers, they would not want to open it up for everyone to bring youngters, unless they had time at the end but trecs very labour intensive and they usually want to clear up asap as they are usually paying high rates for the arean
