Poll; His breed?

Allo all!

Thought id give this another go now that we have polls, and some new members!

Brief info;

31 years old, 32 in october [technically next year, but he hasnt have a birthday :D]

He has excelled in SJ and Dressage, as hes got older, hes obviously lost his muscle. I will add the usual guesses ive been given over the years to the poll

Crap I clicked the wrong one... But i reckon if he had Arab and TB in he would be a bit bigger, I think hes more Welshie x connie.

I personally have never seen Arab in him, although ive seen a few Arabs with very similar faces, however he isnt 'dished' at all, which makes me even doubt welsh, but then that would make him look more connie, but as you can tell, he's extremely narrow!

Unless he had something else in him that was only maybe a quarter of his breeding..

Blue is supposed to be 3/4 Arab, but does not have a "dished" face.

To me there is something about the way he holds himself in some pictures (i.e the 11th one down) that say arab for some reason. But I see connie in him as well.

It is interesting though to see how different people percive different breeds as well though.. Nothing to say one is right or one is wrong but it strange how one person will see a chareteristic of a breed and yet another dosen't :cheekywink:

He reminds me a bit of my first pony who was arab/welsh b (mainly, I think there might have been a little TB blood plus something else in there). But he could well have connie in him too!

He could have come from a Welsh line that was possibly more direct in TB lines. Although most Welshies these days originate from TB lines, some are more TB looking then others, same as with the Hackney influence, so who knows!

He has such a connie head/face. I still reckon there is a little bit of TB in there as well as sec B and deffo connie! and I can't see any arab what-so-ever, however, you've got to remember that the welsh breeds, especially sec B, has an awful lot of arab influence, hence some peeps thinking he looks "araby"

He may be a Welshie X connie (I think) but one of the parent could of been crossed with something like Arab, and thats come through when Scottie was produced?

There is a arab feeling about him but he doesn't look that arab

I would say welsh x connie, but he something about his head looks a little tb ish.

i would say he was a welsh, he looks really similar to my mums old pony who was a welsh that was bought off the moor so not much like the highly bred ones now and a bit more rough looking and had he still been alive they would be a similar age now, he was bought at the menain pony sales

Baby is Anglo Arab and her sire was pure Arab and she doesn't have a dished nose.

I've voted Connie x Arab because that's what my friends horse is and they look very alike. This is a pic of my daughter on her

i can defo see connie in him but not really sure what else. Dont think he's big enough to have tb in him and although he doesn't look araby at all in some pics, to me he looks to have arab in him in the last three pics x

I think he has connie and a bit of arab in him, maybe a bit of welsh aswell.

I've voted TB x Connie.

This there isn't really a scientific reason behind my choice, it's just that he really looks like a pony on my yard who I know to be a TB x Connie. Casper is only 14.3 despite the thoroughbred blood so I wouldn't rule it out due to his size.

On saying that, in some of the piccies his head looks a bit welshy, but not in all of them.

I agree, there are lots of TB x ponies who are Scottie's size, so it is quite possibly an option!

definitely welsh b in there somewhere. I can't see any arab at all. We did have a welsh b x tb at our yard that was 13.3 so they don't have to be big!
