I have found a Pro Wintec dressage saddle and i was wandering whether or not these are good saddles? I have been told they are, and i have got a good bargain on the one i have found...
Apparently they don't make you as fixed as the Isabel, but i think is probably a good thing?
Thoughts please :)

hi, ihave had quite a few wintecs, including the pro, theyre dressage saddles are good, but i found mine tipped me forward a lot, to check it wasnt just me my instructer and a few people told me they have had the same problem with them,it didnt have a very deep seat either also, wintecs tend to fit finer types rather than thicker set horses, i used my pro on my cob for around 2 years and found out that because the saddle isnt broad enogh across his back ( THE PANELS) it had pushed a vertibre out of line and bruised his back. although i may be contradicting myself now i also had my tbs back checked after using the same saddle and it had done the same to her, it may be just coincidence but im a little wary now! sorry if this doesnt make sense, i ramble on a lot!!!!!! if you know wintecs fit your horse well, go for it! hope this helps x

depneds on the level of riding you are doing and how you sit, they arent the most dressage of dressage saddles they are more like showing saddles really, but for the average lower level tests like elemntary and below on a smallish moving horse they are fine on a higher level test when you working on extensions on a big moving horse they really are not ideal there is nothing to push into

the isabella worth is quite a nice dressage saddle really for a budget but again isnt as good for the huge moving wamrbloods, but they do have moveable knee blocks so you can get a good saddler to get you some blocks and sort it to how you want it.

as said above the wintecs, or at least the old ones can be very tricky to fit on most horses, the dressage ones arent as bad and the new ones look better but the GP and jump types are too narrow on the horses back and alot cause discomfort to the horse espciecally if you have a larger or chunkier type horse.

I had a wintec GP for Mac and I really didn't like it, found it really tipped me forward and stuck my leg back. That said it fitted Mac well at a time when I really struggled to get a saddle for him as he was a very odd shape.

Well, he came with a GP that fitted him fine, i only changed to my current one as we had it, it fitted and it wasn't being used!
Im only doing Pony club eventing/dressage, open level, so its just walk, trot, canter etc. etc. so quite low level...
Also my horse is a TBx, and the GP fitted him well, so hopefully it wont be too narrow on his back...
And my horse isn't a particularly big moving horse, he has a massive bum, which he uses well.. but hes not like a warmblood.. hes just your average little showjumper/eventer with a bit of ID in him to give him power!
Thanks :)

hi, jst read my post again, wasnt making out theyre bad saddles, just letting you know my past experiences with them, i have heard the new ones are a far better fit, and the isabella is a nyc looking saddle. its a really individual thing i think a saddle, everyone has different opinions on them...

I had the wintec with adjustable Cair for dressage and when I had problems with my little mare I had a saddle fitter out to check her saddles after her back was diagnosed as being one of the problems. She agreed with the concensus in that they don't fit a large majority of horses as they are not adjustable in other areas apart from the gullet. She did also say that she had witnessed a large number of people who had problems with their horses because of these saddles. The best option as with any saddle is to get it checked by a professional if you are not experienced enough yourself.
