Chip's wound, 3 weeks on is still open and becoming proud fleshy. I'm managing to keep it clean and there's no infection.
I was about to buy some Active Manuka Honey on line but came across Equaide which also sounds brilliant.

I know people on here have used AMH but has anyone tried Equaide? Which one is more effective ?

Active Manuka honey without a doubt - brillient stuff.
My friends horse crashed the gate post - these photos are of just after he had done it, a week later after skin had broken down and stitches ripped out and then three weeks later after having Active Manuka Honey used on the wound, was melted slightly and syringed into the deep injury. Horse was back in work just over five weeks after the original injury.

I'd never heard of using honey in wounds before I came over here to Oz. I've heard great things about it.

Those pictures are amazing!!
What's Chip done Tracey? I'm not browsing very much at the moment. :( Big hugs to him.

I use manuka honey all the time. it's easy to buy here, cos is nz made. The best one to go for is the one with the highest manuka honey factor :-) mine i think is 15 mhf but will check, it sits in the fridge waiting for horses to injure themselves haha

Thanks everyone. Manuka Honey sounds brilliant as does Equaide.

Lisa - Chip came in from the field about 3 weeks ago with a gash in his coronet band going down into the hoof. I expect it was caused by them rearing but who knows with horses.
