I am going to make a poll :D

Where do you guys currently all keep your horses? If you're at livery now but have kept at home in the past, or vice versa/any other combination, which do you prefer??

There have been a few yards that ive really loved being at. Being at the therapy center in my teens seriously gave me advantages and experience i never thought id get. Even more so 'free' livery, however there were several things that added a dark tone to the experience, and in the end, the reasons i left.

I found another yard which was almost my dream come true livery wise, i miss that place every day.

However, having the boys at home is the BEST thing in the world, and as far as i can plan it, i do not want to livery them ever again.

I put other.

Mine are kept, a few minutes away from my home, in a rented field by myself, it used to have other people there but they all left, so I jumped at the chance to be by myself.

Not sure what you would call it???

Mine are on a private rented yard with my friend. It's an old riding school.

Harmonys kept on rented fields (we kind of sub-let, though get rent free) Literally just fields with a field shelter bought by people we're sub-letting off and water troughs!
It's dab there though :) No bitches, no-one to prove yourself to or feel pressured by - downside we don't have a school though the fields are ok to school in

I have Boo at a family friends house. Love it there, so quiet and peaceful and works out great for both of us as her horse has company and I have somewhere to keep Boo with excellent hacking :D

Have had Boo on livery at a couple other places before aswell, but this is my favourite so far :)

Copper is at home which i love at time and hate at other times. So im pleased he is home a lot of the time but goes up the stables every now and then.

I privately rent my own yard which is just a few minutes drive from home :) I absolutelt love it. I personally am not a livery person , I'm too anti-social but if I had to keep them at livery it would be DIY only.
My dream is to have my horses at home though :)

We rent a field from a farmer. the farmer has split a huge portion of his farm into about 20 fields, and each person has their own field, and can do what they want in there- we are in the process of erecting a mini-yard in the field :) I also have a school pegged out, and there is amazing hacking and shows on site. Farmer also produces all his own hay and sells feed which make things easy for us! I love the setup!!

I've voted for "home" but really it's my parents home, not mine, but I don't pay rent etc.

I keep Blue on a privatly rented yard (DIY livery). It is actually a working farm but there are a numebr of liveries there. There used to be about 20 horses here but over the years people have moved on. There are currently 7 of us now. What is nice is the owner has said she is not going to take on any more liveries as she is happy with the number of people and the fact that we all get on and there is not bitching and back biting.

The only down side is we have no school to ride in. Well I say no school, we have one but because it was built by the daugther in law we are expected to pay for it, which many refuse to. But is is nice to haveing the farm to ride around and it is nice that there is always someone on site.

We are currently having all our fields renovated. we have moved to temporary fields whist our old ones have been ripped out (fencing), rested, seeded etc......new fencing will be put in and we will all end up with two fields each (one t orest on to graze). Plus it will be nice to have all the liveries all in one place rather than spread around the farm.

Sorry, I started to waffle, lol.

Sultan was kept at a livery yard, but his owner bought her own land so she put him there and I love it! It's great because I get to look after him how I want. If there's not much grass in one field I get to put him in another, where as when he was at the livery yard I couldn't. I do miss the livery yard though, the stables were a huge 14ft by 14ft, and the social side too!

Mine are at home which I love (the whole reason we moved was so we could have them at home)! But like Apple said it sometimes can be lonely and there is just me and my eleven year old daughter who ride so we usually ride separately cos I ride in the morning and obviously Liv is at school, but do much prefer them being at home.
