For my lot? I would like to get it in for winter, along with their upped feed.
Winter:
Out 24/7.
1 feed a day, Kiwkbeet, D&H Fibengy(thinking about adding graze on) about half a bucket.
Hay, as much as they like.
At the moment:
Out 24/7, 3 on restricted grazing.
1 feed a day, handful of D&H Fibengy.
What did you find the best?

I did another post, someone (sorry can't remember who) said its important to give your horses vitamins, I've never really done this before so I thought I would this year with Winter approaching.

It is important to give your horses vitamins - IF they need them! You can make them ill giving them more then they need.
If they are actually showing signs of needing vitamins, then try putting out a salt lick or a general all round low-level vitamin lick. Dont go down the supplement route unless they need it. Things that contain pro and pre biotics, although useful, can upset the guts if they have too much of it. If you give a supplement to them now, they will then rely on the level you give them. Take them off it in spring, and they then become needy again, even if their system doesnt actually need it.
Himalayan salt licks will do, if they need it.

Emm, might do that, thanks again.
BC - How would I know if they need it? They all seem perfect healthy to me, if not a little overweight but coming winter I am not too worried.

Rhea - if they're getting a full ration recommended for weight/size/workload of their hard feed then there should be all the vits & mins they need in it. I'd only be giving them extra if they are on a reduced ration or restricted grazing.

I personally give supplements to Blue because I feed straights (bran, chaff, sugarbeet, barley etc.......) as opposed to mixes. I have fed mixes in the past but he always looks better on straights and it is the way I have been brought up feeding horses.
This year though we are going the herbal route with supplements and I have had a mix created to my own "recipe". Trying to use more "natural" ingredients for my boy, but that is just me.

sued quite a few most have pretty similar things in i like the Feedmark Benevit best and they often do deals so you can get it more cheaply, also used to NAF general purpoe supplement and the Globalvite by Global herbs, feedmark are great though if you order it online you tend to get it next day and they are always doing good deals like garlic free and stuff

Rhea - I would get a tub of mineral lick, then they can help themselves when they want it. A tub does my 3 about a month and I buy the Harbro one which is just over £10.
Ill warn though the water in trough will always be brown, my lot use the mineral lick then wash their mouths out!
