Should I be worrying? At the start of our hack, first trot or so, he always coughs then snorts. I always thought if they snorted after coughing it was normal but sometimes he'll do it a few times on our ride so I'm worrying now.
Should i be worrying?
He's on good hay, free access to stable but may have been fed dusty hay pre-me?
Thanks

Sounds like he is OK - check his temperature if you are not sure and also check his nostrils for any discharge that is not normal.

If you can guess when he is going to cough [i,e first trot when ridden] it can be just clearing out the airways, however it is often a form of clogged airways due to dust [this can be from stable or paddock] although it isnt RAO, it can escalate into this if they have lung damage.
I wouldnt be too worried as many horses do this, but as said above, if he shows any discharge, seems off colour or has an abnormal breathing/temperature rate then i would possibly get him checked out.
