Dont worry i'm not selling. Just curious what you lot think because i have NO idea!

Here's the main blurb about Icarus...

8 year old 15.2 registered Welsh Cob. Impressive bloodlines. Sire 2nd at Royal Welsh 3 years running, winner at HOYS. Dam prolific champion at national level. Icarus is not a beginner or nervous rider's horse. Purely because it takes an established rider to get any decent work out of him. He can be pretty laid back in the school. He is excellent for children on the lead rein because his ground manners are impeccable. He has done long distance rides and hack out regularly, both on his own and in company. He has been shown at county level and is always placed. Has come 2nd and 4th and the South of England Show. Is well known on the local circuit and is always in the ribbons.

Still green showjumping but showing real promise. Has jumped well over 3ft (thats as high as my wings go!) He's really keen and takes you to the jumps. Also doing well with ODEs, coming 3rd and 4th the only 2 times he has done it. Dressage is improving steadily, getting placed 1st on his first time out.

Being welsh he has real character and is always very people orientated. he enjoys a good cuddle and is never nasty, nippy, bargy or bolshy. He has never even pulled a face at us.

if you were wanting to sell him quickly then you wouldnt struggle to get £3000 but i would say you could even get as much as £4000/4500 maybe more as he improves

A really good welsh D seems to go for a lot of money, i think i sold mine for £3500 and she had done a little of everything like him but was a little smaller at only 14.2

I wouldn't be surprised to see him up for £4500, possibly over 5k once the market picks up. It could be more because of his showing record but I don't really know much about showing and prices. He's a bit of a star though isn't he? :)

the market probably isnt as good as it was when you bought him in a good market you could probably put another 1000/1500 on his price but things arent selling that well at the moment

Too right!:cheekywink: hee hee.
I suppose a horse is only worth what people are willing to pay for him. To me, he's priceless.

I would say around £3,000 to £3,500 up this way. Cobs are very popular here!

I would say around £4000 with his showing record. He is a beautiful boy. A lady who works for me has a well bred registered welsh D same age as yours but a bit smaller, he's got a better jumping record than yours having qualified for various national finals, but less of a showing record as he's only shown locally, he was bought for £3500 recently. He is anyone's ride though.

i know nothing much about showing natives but the good sec Ds go for alot of money, esp if he has a good temperment too.
so i would say around 3-5k depending on his future showing potential. obviously if he is out competing jumping and dressage that would add to his price.
