some of you may know this pony from previou posts, but for those who dont or for those who were confused here's a little about lady chels!

Chelsea is a dark brown 14hh approx 28 year old mare of unknown breeding.
She belongs to the YO and has been on the yard for I think two years now. She came as a bogof with the YO's daughters 15.1hh clydie cross.
Chelsea was loaned by a little girl for about a year who gave her up when chelsea had to be semi retired. Prior to that the little girl was hacking her out, taking her to shows and doing a little jumping - although chelsea was not at all an easy jumper! I had a shot on her one summer. She seemed really big and longstriding compared to b and when I jumped her she stopped the first time and the second time she absolutly leaped ove the jump! Not comfortable! In hindsight she was probably past her jumping years then and finding it uncomfortable, but she was only asked to jump tiny cross poles and only a handful of times. What she loved was hacking! She used to fly through stubble with her wee loaner giggling away on her back!
She is now compleatly retired. She had a very bad winter last year and nearly never made it through so we are all very pleased with her this year.
I first looked after her in the summer of 2008 when her wee loaner went on hols and I looked after chels for two weeks. And it was lovely!

B and C have always been good friends and often in the same field. So for those two weeks I treated her exactlly the same as B, just letting her come in herself for her munchies, she soon got the hang of it!

She is a lovely mare and her and B have gotten really attatched over this autumn and winter. Where they are now joint at the hip, if one goes to the field then the other has too aswell!! and they are never far from each other when grazing. They are stabled next to each other too and when B wasnt well a while back chelsea would pop her head over the door when she was wandering in the yard to see how he was doing, nurse chelsea!
Because of this attatchemnt I started to feed and turn her out in the mornings as I am usually up before YO. And i I have the time on my days off I bring her in and give her a nice groom. So its almost like having two ponies! (YO calls me her surragat mummy, but I think of myself as bein more of an aunty!)
She's a lovely mare and has such a character that I'm just getting to know now. She can be the quietest mare ever and then she'll have a day when she comes galloping up the field to come in, she even attempted a little buck one day!! (she is arthritic and stiff hence being retired) And somes times when you let her out to wander on the yard she decideds she doesnt want to be caught and makes faces at you and trots off!! It's so funny, then she'll stand and give you a butter wouldnt melt look!
She has on occasion taken her self into B's stable.. with him!! Clearly his feed is much tastier, despite them getting the same thing!
here are a few pics of her..
