I'm calling it box rest although there is nothing wrong with Troy.

He has not been out of the stable block , more or less, since the Saturday before Christmas due to ice. thats 9 days today.

Managed to get him to the horse walker today as the YO has dug a small path from the block to the HW but the rest of the yard is dangerous to walk on and the car park is out of bounds as its like an ice rink.

So, when the ice eventually thaws...what do i do with him? Do I need to only walk for so long or what? Its not looking likely this week according to the forecast

Sorry if I sound dumb but I'm sure I shouldn't just jump on as normal

dont do as much as you usually would maybe spend a few days hacking out or just doing slower work and build it up again, if he can go on the walker some or most days that will help him out

mine havent been ridden or worked but luckily other than today both have been out so they shouldnt be too bad to bring back in again, might be able to work him tomorrow

Bailey's been stabled for 12 days now too, I've managed to turn him out in the school but only twice for 10 mins each time!

I'm going to make sure he has some turnout before I try and ride so that he can burn off some energy WITHOUT me on his back!! Then I'll just walk and gently lunge for a week or so before building up his exercise again.
