How much do you pay for your riders insurance?

Hi everyone,

This is a question to horse riders whpodo not actually insure the horse as I'm looking to get some quotes for riders insurance only.

So if you don't mind telling me it would be really helpful to know:

1) How much you pay per month for riders insurance?
2) Who are you insured with?
3) What does your policy cover you for? (if you have the info to hand)

I'm with Petplan, got the premium insurance and I think it's about £85/year.

For that, I get cover for 3rd party liability, death of rider, hospitalisation of rider, dental fees, disability, tack (if I break tack, it's covered on insurance), custodial liability (if horse dies due to my negligence, owners get a payout), emergency vets fees (if the reason for vet is my fault).

I am a British horse Society Gold member and this has 3rd party Ins. its about £52 per year

i'm with petplan too and pay £8 a month for their maximum cover - so covers just about everything you can think of!
