Am considering buying T4 or T6 Dressage Cob with 17.5 inch seat.
Gonna try this one for Vel ;)

I've just sold my T4 GP Hi wither one on Ebay today - not much help I know, but just got to say I really didn't like the Thorowgood at all. I found the saddle flaps really short, and always had to wear chaps or it rubbed! It also made me feel really "perched" on top and not sitting into my horse.
If you can, try one first to see if you like it - I lost loads of money on mine!

Im hoping the dressage one will maybe have longer flaps than the GP, Vel has very low withers and ive been advised this may be the best saddle for him, its just to do him till he has stopped growing (ok another 4 years or so!) then ill invest in a really good qualitry one to do him for life........well thats the plan!

Just to add my 2 pence worth. I tried a t4 throwgood cob on chubbles when he was 4 and it was he horribleist (sp?!) thing ever, it felt really bulky and I coudn't 'feel' him at all. I went with a Wintec for him after that, then last summer I bought him the t6 thorowgood cob. Fitted him perfectly and because it wasn't suede like the t4 it was much comfier and I could feel him.
Just a wee bit to say about how I felt the difference between the T4 & T6 models.

How funny- I sold my wintec in favour of the newest style T4 GP, as found it soooo much nicer to ride in! I hate hate wintecs, find them so uncomfortable! Shows how different saddles suit different riders!! I hated the old Thorogoods however!

Do you find the suede effects the feel of the horse?

Not at all personally. Although I didnt like riding it in my suede seated Jods as I couldnt move with the horse that easily, but thats easliy resolved. Ive used it on Lola (its her saddle) and with a different gullet on Uva as a stop gap until I got her leather show saddle sorted. I liked it on both of them, and was tempted to buy one for Salsa too (we ended up with a cheaper maxam, but will be getting a better saddle down the line for her)

I am selling my Thorowgood Maxam (it's a high wither) partly because it would never fit Kita, but mostly because I hate it. Don't know about the T4 or T6, but I felt, to use Fluffduff's expression, very 'perched' on top of it. Very little feeling through it, and it squeaked.

I find Salsa's Maxam perched, and it squeaks- dont like it, but its a saddle to back her in. I dont find it remotely like the T4 unfortunately :(

i had a dressgae wintec, but it caused problems with my mare, so i chose a thorogood(i wanted a light saddle for her as she was neglected before and was still changing shape) i got a thorogood technic dressage, and its great, at first i felt perched, but i soon got used to it, and it gives me a great position. i think theyre feat and fit far better than wintec. mine isnt changeable gullet(well as far as i know its not, im probs wrong!) but when it doesnt fit ill pop it in my tak room as a spare as it didnt cost much!hope this helps?
