Took Vinny to the local trekking centre last week to practice his jumping. He was very good :)

We took his girlfriend Olive (belonging to my feral friend) who is learning to jump. In fact she knows how to jump perfectly well, and we are learning how to persuade her that dirty stops, dirty spins and dirty run-outs are unacceptable. Olive is a very strong character  I love her, but she certainly doesn't make life easy!

Things clicking for the time being..

The next day I schooled Vinny.
No comments about lack of hat please, I know the dangers and don't make a habit of it. My friend and I kept swapping and on one occasion I forgot to swap the hat over and it felt so nice I rode for 5 mins without it, but will not be doing that again any time soon!
A bit speedy

You have a super talented horse there! He seems to be able to do anything: race, school, jump, show, hack, look after novices. He's a gem!!

Getting him to jump traffic cones was a breakthrough Gem!
Want to try and get him jumping the top of the jump stand eventually, but my nerve runs out at about 3'3-3'6... Silly really, what's the worst that can happen??

Flipper, we can't really do showing... And am not putting any novices on him until I've eased off the racing mix, the beggar ran away with me today! Actually in his field he is always good, it's just that he demanded a long gallop today and I kept trying to pull him up, so he ignored me - very naughty!
