I jumped my old horse a bit, but more of a flat rider, he was an Ex grade B and i ried very hard to get him to like dressage but still got excited if he though there was any chance of jumps
Nice horse, what did he do to injur his stifle in the first one looks a pretty nasty cut

There are a few people who do show jumping on here, however the forum has only been open a week and it's not season start so not much to post about, i dont think ;)
I competed in 'proper' show jumping classes for a number of years, and relaxed by taking my other horses to locals to do the intermediate and open calsses. It is my main equine sport passion. Absoloutley love it.

Wow! Your horse is gorgeous and those jumps are HUGE. What's your horse's name? Breed? Age? Need details! :D
I love showjumping and grew up doing it. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of outlets for it in the States, really. Pleasure hunters sort of reign supreme and a lot of people just don't like the "speed freak"-ness that gets associated with the jumpers.
But if I get my pony back, I will be focusing on showjumping once more! :D Very exciting.

Wow those are HUGE jumps!
I entered my first showjumping class in 10 years on my pacer on Saturday. It was also his first class, just a little 2'0-2'3 job, and to my astonishment we won it! No pics of us airborne sadly but here are a couple..

Harness racing is our 'thing' though, it's what we both love the most. Jumping is just a bit of fun to add some variety and stop him getting stale. He really enjoys it, I do too, but I find shows dead boring really and would much rather spend the day at the races :)

The forum hasn't been open for very long! We completely moved so all the earlier posts are gone and everyone had to register again! Hence why everyone has such poor post counts and there's not many posts around the forum

Not sure I'd count myself as a showjumper although it is what we do mostly its at a much lower level than yours! This has been my mares first year out competing and have missed a lot of it due to injuries. What we have done has bene 2'6" max. I've had her since she was about 18months old so have been out of the game for a while now as not had a suitable ride. As a child I used to SJ competitively but now I'm quite happy just doing RC and local shows etc.

I used to showjump at local level................my "height" for jumping was around the 2'6" to 3' mark (not very big I know). But I have over the years lost practically all my confidence so I a lucky if I ride much these days. Would love to jump again though.

I used to do BE and a bit of BSJA over the winter - like casper really!!! But since having my winkles, I've now converted to LR showing lol - oh how I long for the days of eventing lol lol. I never jumped a round as big a 1m 30 though, I donlt think lool - I think about 3ft 9 was the highest round I did (don't know what that is in metres rofl)
edited to say - winkles as in children, not wrinkles as in getting old lol

My pony and I used to show jump, local level, quite well, I think he would of done well BSJA but he had a bad tendon injury, and cos of his age now and my age it wasn't fair (Both 18 now! lol) and hes only 14hh so wouldn't had long in juniors with him!

Your horse is a stunner! It's lovely that you've had him since 4. And those jumps are huge. Afraid it's not my thing. I love watching jumping but haven't the bottle to do it.

I was going to say I am was a showjumper until I saw yours pics, but I am afraid I am only doing intro shows and at that only doing 70 & 80. I do unaffilated as well but I prefer the courses at an intro show as they are built better with more in them.

My horse Tillie is an ex BSJA jumper but doesn't do BSJA anymore after a tendon injury about 4-5 years ago. I only got her last July and have only done unaffiliated 60cms so far (65cms in the jump off) but at home I have been jumping her 2ft 6in - 3ft 3in singles as sadly we don't have enough jumps to make much of a course.
This is us jumping some of the smaller jumps (2ftish) at home

According to her BSJA sheet she was a Grade C showjumper. She did mainly Discovery and British Novice. Out of 11 shows on her sheet she came in the top 3 for 7 of them

I love showjumping but lost a lot of confidence and haven't ridden for about a year. Would really like to get back into it again though. Maybe start off with some trailblazers.

My girl loves to jump and we jump just for fun but she's too small to do BSJA with me as a rider so we stick to showing and dressage

I don't compete very much at all now but I have done a lot of SJ locally up to 3'6'' mainly with a couple of 3'9'' classes too back in the day.
I do still jump with my main horse Kiwi, however he has arthritis in his hock so I limit his jumping height to 2'9'' now. I am focussing on dressage with my mare Abbey, providing I can find a dressage legal bit to compete her in (my horses are all bitless).

Me?! I probs have the most unsecure leg in the history of equestrainship! Anyway, this was in spring and is one of the only jumping pics i have on a horsey.

Last time i rode i did some 3 foot grids.
Belive me, i have sortered out my hands and legs!
Ps, see that line by my foot? Thats my sisters atempt of trying to make me look mean by putting massive spurs on! Lol, i stopped her just in time!

He's an adult, it's his choice if he wears a hat or not.
Me and Saffy want to be showjumpers but she's just learning at the moment and I'm a bit rusty so we'll be staying below 2ft6 for the forseeable future :)

i used to showjump jazz (black pony in my sig) unaffiliated, as she was too small for affiliated with me being in my 20's. around the kent area we qualified for showjumper of the year 4 times, trailblazers championships 3 times and she has about 150 prize money. never got to any of the championships as they were all too far away or something happened so we couldnt go! usually started a warm up class of 2'6, and ended with the open 3'-3'3. won a puissance once at 4ft 2. not bad for a 14.1 cob lol
