I have to admit , I am obsessed with riding and my horse. (Although when I have to), I can devote my attention to my family or work, as soon as i have a quiet moment, my thoughts go back to Kissie and riding!
In my head I am planning my next rides, what I am going to do, how much weight will i have to lose before my next phase of improvement, what clothes, tack or rugs I need to buy etc. So is it healthy to be so obsessed and am i just a horse bore? personally I think a certain amount of obession is essential for success-what do you think?

Course its healthy! Its something you have a passion for, absolsutely nothing wrong with that. And in literal terms, it IS healthy.. least you're not obsessed with being a couch potato :cheekywink:
I agree that an obsession will give you a big drive to do well too, you're less likely to give up :)

I am sure its healthy:lol: I am a bit the same. I always apologise to my mum and dad when I go and see them as all I talk about is my ponies!!!! I think I must be such a bore . My dad says its ok as its so nice to see me so enthusiastic and passionate about them. I have no other real interests...I don't smoke or rarely do I go out.
My hubby must think I love Banjo more than he:cheekywink:

I guess as long as the obsession is good, then its fine. Obessions like having to succeed which may hamper the horses health or happiness are obviously bad, but loving horses in a good way is pretty healthy, plus they are great animals anyway
I never ever shop for myself, and never have as i prefer my horses getting things that they need. As Jase kindly put it last night
"If your horses could have everything they wanted and needed, but you could only eat bread for the rest of your life, you would do it. But if you were sat outside and one looked at you hungrily, you'd give them your bread too"
I've always been obsessed with horses and ponies. Way too much when i was a kid, but now ive channeled it into learning as much as i can and understanding them and how their mind works, which then only fuels what i want to do with them, so all round wins?

I have periods of it but i must admit with it being my job as well i find it hard sometimes i put work behind me and concentrate on my horses and it still be fun,
Been super excited the last few days with the possibility of the new horse coming so EVERYWHERE is spotless and been power hosed, kizzie is getting evicted to the little stable and i hand racked! my arena, which took all day and 40 wheel barrows to make it level!
cant wait to get him home, and the derby house catlogue came today and i was like oo i can buy this and this and this and ooo that will look nice on him, SOOO excited

Agree with Banjo - the way I justify having my two and juggling family is that I don't go out drinking (once in the past year!), I don't do drugs or smoke, I don't buy clothes for myself very often (last time went shopping with £100 FOR ME and came back with a new rug for Perks!!)
There are lot more unhealthier things to obsess with - Gerard Butler's 6-pack for one (Google..you'll see why!)
I just googles him-phwoar!!!
I guess he could distract me!

Ness he's from the same village as my Husband Dave in Scotland. I've met his Mum - although I got a bit enthusiastic about her son and I think she may have a restraining order on me now!!! xxx
Oh dear, I bet you would need restraining and that's not all!
