View Full Version : Riding underwear!

Right ladies, leave your shame at the door and lets talk pants!

I'm on the search for comfortable riding underwear that doesn't give you really bad VPL! I've never been able to find any, despise riding in thongs, its not so noticeable in the darker jods I wear everyday but for shows when I have to brave the cream jods its far more obvious!

:ashamed:Help!:ashamed:

 Would really thin french type knickers show?? I have some and they're like paper!! Other than that, you might have to put up with thongs!

I just ride in high legged briefs or boxers, I just give everyone a site haha Their fault for looking ;)

I just wear whatever I tend to be in at the time. I don't usually plan it as I ride so often.

I need to get some under my white breeches, i didnt realise how see through they were and i worse some pink and blue spotted nickers the other day!

I think the longer more kind of boxer type ones will work well im going to buy some i think they shouldnt have the same line being lower on the leg and they are white so hopefully invisible, other than that comando? lol

Oh I was having a whinge about this the other day - I have 3 pairs of pants that I use for riding in and they are falling to bits, holes in them and everything oh the shame:o

I had bought some new ones, the shorts style ones as I like them and usually wear them - I popped a pair on before my riding lesson and had a wedgie for half an hour:mad: I was no amused and am now back to the drawing board for the perfect riding pants as MacKays no longer sell the ones I usually wear

I actually find thongs better then any other underwear, you don't have to keep pulling it out your cack lol

I look awful in jods, fat thighs, big bum and cellulite courtesy of my mother (it runs in the family real bad) so a bit of VPL is the least of my worries! I always wear dark jods so I don't think it's too obvious.

Granny pants, the ones that cover your whole arse, buy them a size up from normal so they won't dig in at all then they don't show.
High leg are also good, but again make sure they're not tight, only pants that are too small and digging in cause VPL.

I find thongs and sitting trot don't mix!
Boxer type pants and french nickers get eaten by my bum when riding.

My high legged briefs are from M&S best ones so far I think, really comfy and not expensive either woo!

Well I've been out shopping today and found bhs do some 'invisible' briefs apparently (took me ages to find them.....boom boom) - so I bought a couple of pairs to try and will report back! I'm out showjumping tonight and will be hacking youngsters all day tomorrow (I will change the pants inbetween!) and will let you all know!

 I remember wearing a thong once and spent most of the lesson trying to pick it back out of my arse!

Made me chuckle reading this, sort of like listening behind the door  but seriously us guys have the same problem. I now have boxers from Equipants think they are called, and they are superb. My OH bought some ladies boxer type specific riding pants at Burghley, she says they are really good ( I will get the make for you ) My job of course is to report to her the VPL status which of course I am glad to do :innocent:

I mega problems with pants!

I've now found that the girly boxers (seamless as possible) work the best for me!

Grannypants all the way for me, though I never wear g-strings anyway as I can't bring myself to think they would be comfortable

thongs are THE most uncomftable things in the history of the world!

I am thinking of invented some really thin knickers that are actually like shorts, so the vlp is around your thigh so it doesn't matter >=(

I wear either high legged briefs or girl boxers, they have to be cotton though as I find them most comfortable. I once made the mistake of riding in lacey french knickers as I hadn't planned on riding.......there was major chaffing and to this day it makes me wince, I honestly could barely sit down!

see i always ride in a thong (and clothes of course!) and I find period knickers as emmalou calls them really uncomfortable.. Its all about the positioning though! Sometimes you have to pick a sneaky moment to readjust, important to check for people behind you when out hacking tho!

Me too - it has to be a thong for me :p

Definitely girl boxers for me, so long as they don't have seams anywhere and are all lycra stretchy stuff (not so nice in the heat, but better than chafing). I buy a size smaller than for other knickers and they don't migrate at all. Carrefours do their own make over here which are brilliant (and cheap). Is Carrefour in the UK too?

PMSL at the lot of you!!!!

LAura - you should have advised me of this problem today at Ingatestone, did you not SEE the HUGE rail of riding undies they had?? Some that looked shocking but some that looked goooooooood, there was one pair that looked like a swim suit but with legs - I want it for myself - even though I no longer ride lol!! xx

Savvy

lol I forgot to look in there! I'd kind of resigned myself to a life of VPL!
