My hairy man takes a while to dry after our ambles, I currently use The old fashioned string vest type rug, and if cold out, a fleece over the top. Can anyone recommend anything that may work a little faster? The new polyester types feel nice!

Something like either an australian rug [very very old fashioned, basically the string vest rug with a rug ontop of it, only ever seen one, i love using it its just a bit small on Spud now!]
Or something like a honeycomb waffle rug - theyre brilliant at wicking away the sweat - have a gorgeous JW i got for Spud at olympia but hes outgrown it! grrr

Personally id stay away from fleeces if theyre wet and save them for when they have dried - if you've ever worn a fleece and got rained on, you'll know what i mean. You get very cold!

I have a waffle cooler, absolutely love it think it cost something like £20 off ebay and it's great for cooling off and as a base layer in the really cold weather.

I find, that when he's wearing the fleece over the "vest",( I keep him in for a few hours) that the fleece is really wet on the top,but he is warm underneath and I feel really guilty pulling it off and putting his turnout on!!

It usually depends on the quality etc - some of them can still leave the coat damp as it doesnt absorb all the moisture leaving the horse getting cold. If you do use a fleece, dont use them for too long if they do take in the wet. :)
