Just had a delivery from Robinsons and I can't believe I'm getting excited about buckets but I am!!!
Waiting for the vet to get back to me with an appointment and then I can arrange to collect him. I hate waiting!!
Think I've actually got everything I need now, all stashed in the garage! I'm sure I'll find something is missing when I actually get him though!
I'm so excited and I've actually lost 5lbs this week, I think it's all the adrenalin!!

Well yes of course!! I've got 3 burgundy trug buckets for feeds, 1 silver bucket with a lid (intended for sugar beet but not sure if you're meant to put a lid on when you soak it?) and a black trug to pick his feet out into.

Sounds like you're well organised. Let's hope the vet rings with the appointment soon. :)
All the people who I know who use sugar beet leave it uncovered whilst soaking.

So far I've gone with blue but I'd like to add some yellow if I can actually find some yellow stuff! I guess I'll be able to get a yellow saddle cloth.
(Couldn't get blue or yellow buckets though!)
Thanks for the tip re sugar beet!

Exciting!!!!!!!
You've got a long way to go though...... I made up 42 feeds the other day (for 7 horses) if that gives you any idea how many trugs we have!!!!!!!
Re. the sugarbeet thing.... I always put the lid on! Stops things dropping into it!
Have to test the new smilies.....

I dont use Sugar Beet as Chance is not allowed sugar but use Fast Fibre and its ready in 30 seconds so dont need to make it up beforehand. I just make it when Im doing the feeds.

Yeah I'm going to see how much of a hassle feeds are and might get some more trugs at some point, got enough to get started though. OH saw the 5 buckets though and said "HOW many buckets?"
Yeah I think I'm going to go with a quicker mix but I bought the lidded bucket when I thought I'd be doing sugar beet. I can keep shampoo and sponges in it instead or something maybe, stuff for a bath.

Crazy amount of buckets, i wouldnt cover the sugarbeet as in hot weather it tends to ferment and gets smelly and a lid i imagine would make it worse, i thought you were going to use speedi beet anyway which it ready in like ten minuets so you just make up what you need so its not sat around getting wiffy

I love buying things like that too, Magic's buckets are blue apart from his feed bucket which is black. He could do with a new one but i'm trying to resist lol.

You can get yellow tub trugs from Homebase and B&Q as I was in my local ones and saw them when I was looking for wheelbarrows!
I too get excited over small things, I remember once when I got excited over buys a hoof pick and whip, my dad thought I was mad lol
Spocks buckets are all red (my favourite colour) apart from his feed bin in purple. All his rugs and brushed are blue!

I can understand your excitement, I love buying things for the yard. All my buckets are either purple or red, my haynets are purple too. I like everything to be colour co-ordinated!:ashamed:
