Hi everyone,
Boodle/RR here in case you hadn't guessed. Thought i'd do a wee post in case anyones interested in what has been going on recently as i've had a few concerned texts/calls/emails.
I'm still a working pupil at a lovely little yard, reallyt considered going off to uni this year but decided to stick it out till next year in the aim of getting my 3.
My work horse, Daz suffered a severe kick a few weeks ago, making us think he may have broken a bone. He is still lame but it is entirely soft tissue damage, expected to be out of work for another couple of months unfortunately... means he obviously won't sell anytime soon.
Have the option of 3 other horses at work to ride/compete so will be starting up with them as soon as possible.
My own ponies have had quite a bad time of it recently.
Boo has really struggled this summer with her feet, the wet weather has caused huge problems for healthy horn growth and the mud has been causing abscess/infection after infection.
She is currently on box rest and is improving slowly, but is expected to be in all winter, with the hope she will be ok as a field ornament/light hack next year.
Joey has been having issues with his shoulder and further degeneration of the joint with the wet weather, his UFP and sweet itch have taken a back seat this year, but there's always something.
Shadow has done very well, and has a little girl ride her a few times a week, which she thoroughly enjoys.
As for me... i've been riding alot of different horses recently, broadening my knowledge as much as possible and really enjoying the new challenge of my level 3, now I have my 2.
Hoping to go on and travel next summer if I can earn enough and then probably Uni next september... ideally to do Equine Veterinary Nursing. :) It's all a distant plan... at the moment my loyalty has to lie with my work, my lame work horse, and my lame horse at home. What fun.
Hope everyone is well.
Wee picture of me and Boo out on her evening walk, this evening included. :)
