I know I don't post much lately, what with not really having Domino anymore and my recent decision to leave my hunt-seat barn. But I thought I'd update you guys :)
I saw an ad the other day for a lady with five Morgans who need exercise. The ad was vague, so I just took a shot in the dark and sent an e-mail. I met with her today - there are two horses she would like me to ride, although ideally I'm hoping she will allow my friend to work with one while I focus on the other. The one I'd like my friend to ride is a sweet old man sort. The one I'm seeing as "my" project is a black gelding named Raven.
He's a former saddleseat horse who didn't have the headset, so the owner's daughter competed him as a pleasure hunter for a while. The owner thinks he could be a cool little dressage horse though, and I'd love to put some experience on him. He's very very very very very very mouthy and he seemed pretty fresh when I rode him - just felt very green - but I'm really excited. He's certainly not Domino, but he's something to fill the gap for now and focus my energy into.
Best of all, I'm allowed to ride for free (up to six times per week on each horse), and the barn is less than two miles away so I can bike there.
Pictures soon!
