Has anyone got their own prefix? official or unoficial?
When i first bred off Dancer i was keen to get my own prefix but i never quite got round to picking one or registering it.
Wondering whether do get one for this next foal? I know i'm not a big breeder but i still like the idea.

I kinda like horses without prefix's at work some of ours have and some dont they have the prefix DPUK, Dressage Ponies Uk, and at my old job everything was 'Coutry' but that kinda limited what you could call them cause some just sounded silly
I like some of the american names when they are like 'Call Me' or 'Hes a'

it origionally was going to be Becksway ..... because i had a business running under that name then. Now i dont know. You can have from 2 letters up. I was maybe thinking RK as i'm Rebecca Knox and the hubby is Richard. That way it doesnt dictate what names i can use after that. Its not a prefix a such but Dancers foals have always been named as "her" foals. Such as - "Dancer's Joy" (known as Joy) "Dancer's Dream" "Dancer's Destiny"
Maybe i'll just carry on with that theme

My old YO had 'Elegance' as her prefix, dont know if she ever registered anything with it though, it was a bit of a whim she had
Thought that was quite nice though.

My mum has a prefix she uses and has it registered with the central prefix register.

Lesley…a prefex is the first part of a horses name that is associated to the breeder. When you are a large stud, all the horses you breed have this at the front so everyone who buys it can trace where it came from and also, if they are successful, any watchers will be able to know who bred it. You cant change a prefix on the passport, its there for life. If you have a registered breed like a welsh, chances are it has a prefix at the front.
