Has anyone shared their horse with someone they know? Was it better or worse than sharing with a stranger?

Well I knew Spikes owner before, not well but I had been out on a couple of hacks with her, she was there when we moved Shanti to the yard.
I personally think it has been better because she knows my capabilities more and knows she can trust me from the word go, theres not the issue of building up trust. So she is happier for me to do things :)

I shared my RI/boss' horse for a while when I was 16/17, it worked well as she knew what I was capable of and trusted me to do her other horses on my days too if it was needed plus I had a really good relationship with her (still do) and used to have lessons on him with her and stuff which really helped me progess BUT and this is a big but we had a contract, it was a business arrangement and we both knew exactly where we stood so it worked. I did however also share for one summer with a friend (I was 17 at the time), it was largely to help her out as she was boy obsessed at the time and have to say it went horribly, horribly wrong and it pretty much ruined our friendship as nobody knew what was what and who should be doing what. Also, I didn't contribute in any way financially so it never really felt like I had any say - in the end I just told them one day that I wouldn't be coming back and that was that as I was sick of being messed about.
