How big is an acre??

Probably a really thick question :o

I honestly cannot "visualise" how big an acre is. Can anyone help me out as to how big 1 acre actually is? A photo of a horse in a 1acre field would be fantastic so I have something visual to go by :lol:

A square acre is about 210 feet each side

Not very helpful i know, but my old field was nearly 2 acres, i was standing in one corner, field shelter in the other [although it was taken with a zoom, ack] the ground you see in the pic will be about .8 of an acre.

Honestly - I have no idea really! I am pretty useless with things like that but I would imagine it to be around the size of a football pitch like others have said!

A football pitch is slightly smaller than an acre, but its what a lot of people can visualise so most people compare it to an acre

i've always been told its the size of a football pitch, but then that doesnt help much either cause how big is a foot ball pitch? and is it one of those huge pitches or a small park type one?
