ilovedonny<3 knows what a horse looks like
Default Very proud! and a question ...

Sooo proud of Donny!!
We went to a gymkhana and he was soo good we did an ultra mini clear round as we were in a rush for WH and wanted him to have a easy round to get him going. Went clear but he was a bit green and was a bit iffy at times.
But in WH... my goodness! The pony went like a pro!! Going forward and jumping fab! (apart from 1 fence where he backed off a bit) but went clear! Veeery please We went and did our show and he went on the bit (most of the time) and was good apart from our "gallop" he kept changing his legs buuttt WE CAME 2ND!!!
few picies!

The question:

Some woman made a rude comment saying that if we're not careful Donny will get Laminitis because his getting too fat ...

We have had lots of problems with Don and his weight.. he got a huge belly last year when the grass came in... then during summer his condition went down rapidly and he lost a lot of weight and we couldn't get it back on but eventually after changing his feed a couple of times we finally got it right! my mother and his owner were saying how well he looked because he has filled out properly (he turned 6 today).

Do you think he's too fat? (sorry don't have recent pic without me on him)

Well done on the 2nd.

He does look overweight to me. I would be cutting down feed or upping exercise.

Lovely pics. Looking at the last pic I'll be honest and say yes I think he could do with losing some weight! There was no need for that woman to be horrible though, some people just get a kick out of putting others down x

Well done! Great pics!

He does look like he could do with loosing a bit of weight but he's not mahoosively fat. Bit more exercise now the spring grass is through should help.

Well done! I have to agree he does look like he's carrying rather too much weight, but there are ways of telling someone this!!xx

Thanks guys! The way she told us it came across really badly (as many of you have realised) His exercise is being increased, so he gets 0 or 1 day a week off instead of 2. Pony club is really kicking off now so we'll be off every week and once the weather is nicer he'll be going on some longer 2-4 hour hacks instead of 2 hours and under
