Default How often do you school?

I just wondered how often do you think is reasonable to school Kissie. I have a few days off work, now and I schooled her today, but do you think I should leave it tomorrow and just hack, or will it be ok to school her again? We do about half an hour of just trotting circles, figures of eight etc, alternating with short burst of walk. Thank you. x

I school probably 3 times per week sometimes 4 and that includes a 45min-1hour lesson, then aim to lunge on the pessoa once a week, then the other 3 days of the week are hacking, jumping or days off, depending on what else is planned e.g. shows, hunting. I would say school tomorrow, she will be fine

Thanks, twizzel. I am finding schooling a bit addictive! lol (just don't want to wear my baby out!)

i normally school between 3-5 times a week. they dont get bored if the school was is varied and kept fresh
other days are lunge days, hacking days or competing days plus the odd day off.

Thanks for the replies.
Well, I schooled her again, today-she was very speedy! I kept making her stop, then trot again, (no cantering)but she was till speedy! I don't feel like we achieved anything today! Never mind-at least we got some exercise! lol

I used to school about 2-3 times per week at the old yard but since I moved the hacking is amazing. So I'm finding it harder to get the motivation to school, would much rather go for a blast in the woods instead or go off exploring

Between 4 times a week schooling, 1 day jump, 1-2 days hack (some days I may ride twice), and one day off on average.

I do more schooling/lunging/jumping because my horse doesn't really hack unless I have company!
