Angry How to stop public foot path going through field *photo added*

Is there anything at all you can do to stop a public foot path going through your field? we have one, a stile each end, people are only a aloud to walk from one to anther, dogs must be keep on leads but they take no notice, ripped down my signs and don't pick their dog **** up
Kids come in, climb my fences when there is a stile there! break them, chase the horses.
There are loads of blackberries bushes all around my field and in it, people think they have the right to swan in and pick them, which then winds the horses up, they come over thinking they have food but have the cheek to hit them to make them go away

Is there anything I could do? Ask the council to block it up?

Added a photo.

Only thing i can think of is speak to your council about diverting or closing the path.

Either that, or cant you tape off where people are supposed to walk, and rotate your horses on it?

There's not much you can do I'm afraid! The only chance you've got is if the council will re-locate it around the edge of the field. Other than that it can be fenced off but that's about it!

BC - I can't see my landlord? letting me do that, If I did it without him knowing I will probably get rollicked! either that or the walkers will take it down anyway.

But rotating would have been great, this is the reason why I can only have the electric fence in this part of the field

I've already had the council moaning about the barb wire, even though its in the inside of the field, apparently someone cut their hand on it, the only reason they would have was because the council are to darn lazy to cut the bushes back, its rather get hit in the face with a prickly bush or grab the fence.

Can you section off the path with the electric fence as BC said, and just make sure you have signs up on the fence warning people that it is electric fence. That way you are covering your backside as far as people touching are concerned.

Failing that, ring the council and see what they can suggest, stress to them that it is a possibility that if people scare and chase the horses then there is a chance someone would get hurt.

Not saying that your horses would hurt anybody, but if they are frightened then they might knock into someone.

Ditto all the above we have one that goes along the side of our field and is on the edge of a golf course. We have the same problem with walkers climbing the fence to retrieve golf balls or pick the blackberries. I put electric up with signs made it live for a few days then it died and someone figured it wasn't live and took some of it down to get over. I even had an argument with someone coming through who seemed to think they had a right to come in to pick the berries and collect the golf balls.

I was also going to suggest putting a walkway down the side of the field for people to walk down. A few posts with electric fencing or something. It's so frustrating believe me I know. People are so ignorant.

i would put a large electirc fence with a good zapper on to stop them being able to wander where they shouldnt go, i cant belive people are so rude to take down signs and chase your horses, make sure you put a sign up on the electirc fence and maybe also a few signs about not feeding or bothering the horses and about having a stallion people may be less inclinded if they know there is a stallion about,

and then go complain to the council im not sure how far it will get you but its worth a try
