Default how do you do it?

erm that probably sounds all wrong !!

What I mean is with children/ a child/ work etc keep a horse/ horses?
I think the financial side would be just about ok I kind of budget £350 pcm , really what I want is a nice cob because I think we would be suited to each other.(I know this is a massive generalisation and not all cobs have 'typical' tempraments) From limited experience and reading they are easy to do and keep. I would not want him/her to live out although I know this would be possible and does have advantages. Working livery would not be for me. I would want to do all the jobs.Do you think this is realistic? I know consistency is really important. How do other people who work shifts manage this. My daughter is also having lessons at the moment too so we would do the pony together. I relaise this may be a how long is a peice of string question but any opinions / experiences shared would be much appreciated.
I am not ready yet I feel i need more recent experience in the saddle but this is what I would be looking for;
15h ish cob snaffle mouth
good for the farrier box and clip
good to hack out alone and in company
suitable for novice
kind temprament
no intention to show or jump
pony will just be loved well cared for and hacked out and some schooling.
