Default what kind of a person is your horse?

You can only tell so much from the lovely photos everybody posts.. What is your horse's character like?

Has anybody got a daydreamer? Hasty is a dreamer. He's very sweet and gentle, but I think his head is in the clouds a lot of the time. He goes into a completely daydream and trips over his feet. He still has a bit of an anxious look about him, but he's getting happier and happier. Best of all, he loves a cuddle! He follows me around the field, he won't leave me alone I've never had a horse like this before. He's laid back and sensible, nothing much bothers him, and he can be quite lazy. He knows it's time to work when he's on the track in all his racing gear, and he turns into a completely different horse. He takes a hold of the bit (which he never does at home) and floats. He's not out of control, it's more like sitting on a well-oiled and powerful machine.

This is very Hasty. He has a faraway look in his eye, and he's about to fall over his own legs.

As for Vinny, he is pretty erratic. Some days (usually when there are children about) he is the sweetest old donkey you ever saw, other days (usually when I'm riding him) he is a complete nutter. I still don't understand how a horse can be so long-suffering about sledging, going to the pub, racing, jumping, hunting, children etc, and STILL have a heart attack over a bit of bracken sticking out of the hedge. But that's Vinny for you. Very silly, very wise. I suppose the silliness is because he was brought up by a teenage girl, and the wiseness is because he's an old man.

He rides like a fast Japanese bike, but you can trust him enough to leave your saddle at home as long as you can hold on VERY tight:

Feel free to illustrate with a few photos

Good idea!!

I've always said Saffy reminds me of a fat little schoolgirl in a pretty dress She looks so pretty when she's dolled up but still feels like she'd happily canter through a brick wall. She's like Hasty in the daydreamer sense. I'll be schooling sometimes and it feels like she's not there mentally at all. Otherwise she's very alert and nosey. She kind of reminds me of a child that will scream and shout at their parents and then cry and want a cuddle

Spud is very bold. Although he lacks confidence at times, generally he is very interested in life around him and will do anything asked, even if he needs to gear himself up a bit first. He'd probably be the person most people dislike as he is experienced and can do many things, but those who bother to get to know him, know how much of a rewarding character he is.
He was hurt by many people, so those lucky enough to be allowed into his circle of trust are special.

Rowan would be the 13 year old brat who annoys all the neighbours and is a total pain in the ass, likes winding everyone up for jollies.

lol this is cool

Chubbles is like a boy around 12-16, but he's a nice one, not like a ned! He loves going out to see new things and generally doens't listen to me, but he'd never do anything dangerous. He's happy to school to an extent, aslong as it's not repetitive and day in day out. Also sometimes throws strops and becomes cheeky when he knows he can get away with it, like when he's being led . I'd also say he's a pretty good judge of character as he's always nice and sweet to people at the yard he likes, then puts his ears back and pulls faces when the 'bad' people go by! haha

Mac is very sweet, very gentle and pretty sensible but also very sensitive and intelligent and sometimes get's himself in a tizzy if he thinks somethings going wrong or he's doing something wrong. He's generally alert and is very nosey, enjoys having a good look at anything and everything but can need reassurance in unknown situations. He can be a bit aloof but by and large likes people although it is in quite a reserved manner.

TJ is the complete opposite. He's all bluff and bluster 'look at me' but is quite unsure of himself underneath it. He's everyones best friend and is friendly to the point of being over familiar. He's very cheeky and will push to see how much he can get away with but underneath it he's pretty gentle and just wants to be noticed and liked.

Bella is very fussy about who she trusts - I think I can say that she now trusts me most of the time and it's taken us a good year to get there - she loves my OH but is not keen on any other men except my farrier. She has an adorable "please come and talk to me" face but she can't be bothered to walk to you. She loves to be pampered - if you massage her shoulders she will fall alseep and snore! She also has a VERY a stubborn side - there is no reason behind it, sometimes she just likes to be difficult - she will barge out of the field and then spend the next 10 minutes grovelling to you.

As long as she's sure I haven't left her she is incredibly relaxed - she could move to a new yard each week and I genuinely think she would be fine as long as she had a stable to lie in and someone to tell her a goodnight story!

She holds a grudge ... if I'm late or I've made her do something she didn't like she will ignore me and won't look me in the eye for hours!

She is the most beautiful oversized pony I know!!
