I can't believe we left the house at 8.40 and never got back in it till 8.25pm for a show that isn't even five minutes from my house as well!!
We took both Darli & Diggi today for the first time. Darli was such a wooze, wouldnt stand still to get ready as Diggi was still on the wagon so I had to get the baby to babysit his big brother!! Darli called all day long for Diggi and I'm about deaf with him!!
First class for Darli was Style & Performance which he won, did not expect that one wee bit as there was some lovely horses in the ring. Then he went into the Championship for the Style & Performance of the two classes and took Ridden Champion!!
We then did Youngstock with Diggi who came a respectable 6th which we were really pleased about. He then went into Best Condition Pony and WON!! Judge said he was spot on for a pony his age and she really really loved him. We then did Best Condition Horse with Darli and he WON too!! Judge said to BCE could she bring her horse to put on our grazing, lol!! Darli then went into Best Horse and WON that too!! All the classes were a good size so we were very proud of our boys today. BCE then took Darli in Riding Horse and he got 5th.
So that meant we had two in the inhand championship so we quickly went back to the wagon so I could change into my shirt & tie to take Diggi into the championship as we thought Oh what the hey he has deserved his place so we are taking him. So BCE took Darli and I had Diggi. They kept calling to one another in the ring but it was quite good as it really put Darli on his toes looking for Diggi as I stayed back a bit so he went beautifully. Then it was my turn and I always say Diggi runs out better for me, lol!!! So we were walking round and Darli got called in Champion so I let out a whoop forgetting I was in the ring not at the ringside! : So I kept walking round and got such a shock when she pulled out our little Diggi Reserve Champion. I nearly cried there was Darli Champion and Diggi Reserve was really made up. The compliments the judge was giving to Diggi were brilliant. She said he is going to make such a brilliant little pony and has a great future in front of him! Aw our wee boy!!
So back up to the top as Darli had to go into Supreme. He had the Champion for the ridden in the morning and then the Champion of the Inhand in the afternoon. BCE didn't have time to get on him so she took him in inhand. My friend was in the ring with her horse as he had won Riding Horse and they called her out so I took it they had taken Supreme so was clapping away and then they called BCE out with Darli. It wasnt until they were giving out the sashes that I noticed they were giving my friend Reserve Supreme so Darli was SUPREME of the whole of the show!! Poor BCE didn't know what to do with herself. She was crying and going to be sick and talking about last year breaking her ankle and missing the show and wanting to win her big Inhand Championship trophy back blah blah blah!!
So that was our day. We have came home with a hoard of trophies. Fives trophies, one silver platter, four 1st, 1 5th, 1 6th, a huge supreme rosette with a medal in it, supreme sash, two large championship rosettes and our reserve champion rosette!!
Thank you Candy. I only have a couple from the morning as obviously in the afternoon I was a bit tied up with holding either Darli or Diggi. I was too shattered last night to download them all but will do when I get home. I only have Darli as well as Diggi was out in the afternoon although the professional photographer took some crackers especially at the end with all three of them BCE, Darli & Diggi with her trophies. They will be online soon he said.
I was really shocked. The judge who had judged him in the morning had said it was an unanimous decision from all the judges for Darli to be supreme. She said he sparkled in the morning at 9.30 in her first class and he was still sparkling for his owner and ready to perform at the end of the day in the Supreme. We were so chuffed with this comment.
