Oh dear poor you.

I think it will depend on what surgery you have had and only you will know if you are up to riding or not.

I can't really give much in the way of advice as *touch wood* I have never had surgery!

Hope you are feelong better soon. It depends on the surgery of course but from a psychological point of view if you can climb aboard and have a very quiet walk about it will make you feel so good. No galloping yet though ms galloping gelding.

I had a huge(5 inches long and the root was just as deep apparently) cancerous mole removed from my back last summer and was warned to stay off the horses and not do any lifting etc for a month at least. It killed me and as soon as I thought the four weeks were up I dived on and split my wound

I've had two lots of reconstructive surgery to my wrist, first time I had 2 and a half months off riding and the second time the best part of 4 months. It's hard but not worth the risk of getting back on too soon.
