Default Shopping spree!

Of horses!
Everyone up my yard is buying horses they either can't afford, don't need and/ or don't even really want!
They've all gone crazy my friend sadie is 24 lives at home but is moving out only has one part time job and has 12 horses, she works up our yard to pay off livery of two of them and then works at the tack shop for a sallery and the rest of her spare time is spent mucking out, feeding, or anything else her horses need she only rides one of them which isn't the point I mean she may not want to ride but I can't see her getting much pleasure out of it all, and she won't be able to afford to live on her own with 12 horses oh wait did I mention she's getting another one! or three! she's getting a 6 month old welsh pony, says she will sell it on (that's what she said about her other horses) and she might be getting two shetlands ahh!
My friend Jen has just bought a new forest yearling I mean to be fair he was cheap is very handsome and I'm pretty sure she will sell him on eventually, she works up the yard full time and has her horse roxy I think she will be fine if she's at home for all of this and she's only 18 so I think she will still be at home before she sells him, still I think it's a bit wild!
My friend Katherine has just bought a new forest yearling which she definately can't afford I mean she only had enough money to buy him recently I don't think she could keep up with the livery and she's just turned 17 and goes to school on the american base which means she still has one year left of high school and she's going to the states for college and she thinks she's going to bring him on and sell him for a profit well he'll be way to young to break in while she's in the country!
And surprise surprise Kay's buying another horse haha she's probably bought 10 since I last updated you all with the new arrivals!
Ahh it's wild! I don't know how they will cope I take my hat off to them if they do!

I don't see anything wrong with the girl with 12 horses, as long as they are well cared for and shes loves them, horses are my life, I have 6, they come first rather then clothes etc, I moved out 2 years ago, I am on a low wage but I can just mange it.

Each to their own. I have 3 horses and would desperately love more... but I'm being realistic and I don't have the time or finances to commit to another one just yet, although, providing she makes a good recovery from her accident we do still plan to get Dina in foal early next year.

I agree Rhea that it's ok if they are all well cared for and loved but in all honesty I don't know how you could care for 12 horses. I think it's amazing and wonderful that you have six but I bet that takes up tons of your time? Imagine doubling it. To me 12 horses is irresponsible unless its your business.
