Question Stan in harness - need help!

Harness arrived today. Its black leather and was cheaper than any other I have been watching on ebay and I was the only bidder!

So, Stan obviously knows a lot more than me about this malarky. He stood stock still whilst I festooned him with leather straps.

Then I long reined him in his attire round the school. He is an absolute pro at this. He knows just what its all about. He can't have been driven for at least 5 years but he certainly remembers.

So, Rhea, Pops, Cuddie, help me out here and forgive me getting it all wrong.

This is the first bit of dressing up we did. I took the noseband off the bridle to make fitting it easier.

Then I added some more.

Question 1. Does this saddle thing fit?

Question 2. Do these straps attach to the shafts of the cart?

Question 3. What are these straps at the back for? They seem all twisted.

Question 4. What is this loop for?

Question 5. Can you recommend a simple starter book for me please?

ok first off you have the breeching all wrong (the bum bit), easiest way i can think of explaining is it should look similar to the breast but erm, mirrored i think is the best way, I'll go see if i can find a pic.

I can't add anything constructive Jane, but I would just like to say... Swit-Swoo!
