Default How does he look?

Hey
Rowan is 3 years and 4 months now.
He is currently 14.3hh in front and 15hh behind. Do you think he will make 15hh by next spring as i really wanted to do young dressage horse classes with him!
Also i am a little worried about his weight, there is a grazing muzzle in the post which i am going to keep on him when he is out in the day and take off at night.

thanks

Rowan could do no wrong in my eyes he is such a pretty boy.
He will definately make 15h by next summer, id say he will even up over the winter and as we are coming into winter months now his weight will prob drop a little although id wouldnt say he is overweight just got a bit of a belly but no fatty deposits and no crest.
He is looking fabulous cant wait to see how he looks by next summer

Looks great to me. I think he'll easily make 15hh. Is he in anywork now? Horses dont have a shoulder socket like we do and the mane part of his skeleton is just sat/resting on a hammock of muscles and tendons slung between his 2 front legs. Most youngsters when they start real work bump up at the front as they beef up and develop their front end.

No, I'm in two minds about starting him again. He has been off since the beginning of July and was wondering about sitting on him once or twice a week and going for a short hack but I don't want to push him. Might just long rein him twice a week instead.

He isn't overweight, hads a belly but thats nothing really, he will lose that over winter.

I think he will make 15hh, I would leave him to mature now.

I'd rather have them with a bit on them going into Winter. He looks great, def got more growing to do!

If you think he's up for it I think the odd little hack to keep him ticking over is a good idea through the Winter!
