Default Hows my little teletubbie looking?

I wont be offended if you say he's still way too porky. Mitch has been on a diet since the newyear because he was HUGE and a shetty on the yard came down with lami who was a fraction of the weight as him. Because in a months time he will be super itchy with the moulting and sweetitch i decided to try clipping him out this year BUT the clippers i borrowed turned out to have a blunt set of coarse sheep shearing blades on them and towards the end they were just chewing at the hair. So ignore the god awful clip - how do you think his weight is looking? He certainly has lost a lot because he's got a lot of loose skin and i've had to take up the belly straps on his rug.

spot the peeping tom.....

i think he still looks a little on the chubby side, but not rediculously fat.

The clip looks good! If you'd left his legs on he would have looked like a shetland grand national racing pony! lol!

I always struggle to judge the weight of a Shettie unless I can get my hands on them!
Shetland ponies have a unique shape so even when they are at their ideal weight they can still look a bit 'portly', it really all depends on what you can feel.
Can you feel ribs, does he have fatty lumps at the top fo his shoulders, does he have an apple bum and is he cresty?

From those pics Id say he doesnt look too bad but I am NOT used to seeing a fully clipped Shettie so it makes it even harder

I would guess the clip is also helping get the extra pounds off him

Next time the legs will be staying on, way too much hassle when you have to kneel on the floor to do them. Plus theres loads missed on his legs as the clippers just died.

I have to admit i wanted to take it all off in the new year just for that reason. He's not cresty and you can wobble it quite a bit (some go very firm in their crest) From behind his bum looks quite dinky but with a very portly belly sticking out to the side. If you just felt his neck, shoulders, quarters you'd say he was a good weight but then you still have to push a little to feel his ribs??

If you still have to push quite hard to feel ribs Id keep going with the weight loss plan, what he fed and is he in exercise?
