Default TB's - dim or intelligent?

No names mentioned () but someone on this forum left me in a state of shock the other day when they boldly proclaimed that it was their opinion that TBs are DIM!!! .....and to rub salt into the wound, one or two others agreed!!!

I obviously disagree and think that not only do they look highly intelligent, they act intelligent, so therefore they are intelligent

Tell me I'm not wrong !

Depends on the horse, but I tend to think most are smart but have a higher propensity for "loose screws" than some other breeds

I haven't voted. There is no depends on the individual horse choice. I have met TB's that are dim, but i've also met TB's that are very intelligent.

Like any other breed I suppose!

Hmm im in two minds about this one!

I think the smaller, finer TB's are clever, most of the chunkier, larger ones ive met are thick! We have one in at work who falls over his feet all the ****** time, even when just walking to the field, he just doesnt pick his feet up!!

TB's are highly intelligent animals, like all horses are

I've met some seriously spare TB's in my time, one of them is my aunts TB who is about as far from the 'Nutty TB' label as you can get!

Each horse is different, and some may just have no reason to act in such a highly strung way, even though that can be for a lot of reasons.

I tend to find horses give you warning, ponies are sharp and can react very quickly hence being called sharp etc, but in my opinion they are all very intelligent animals, but like all living species including humans, life experiences and general 'born with' traits can differ causing a 'dim or clever' attitude?

I never saw the post either and I'm always here

I know hes not full TB but hes can be rather clumsy and fall over his own feet at times BUT hes the kindest, gentlest giant I've ever met and that makes up for his clumsiness.

At the end of the day its down to the individual horse, You can't paint them all in the same light.
