Default Getting Worried...

Your going to say I'm being "soft" or whatever but my magic is losing weight like there is no tomorrow, I've only got to put my had lightly on his side and I can feel all his ribs and see them! he dips in at the side, there is no bum or shoulders anymore, hes really looking boney and he feels it too ride.

I upped his feed 3 weeks ago but I haven't seen a difference, even my o/h pointed out hes lost a lot of weight and doesn't look his best, I was telling myself its ok the grass will be here soon but I am afraid hes going to be a rspca case before it gets here! I don't not what else I can do.

pointless post but anyhow.

dont fret hun, the grass is shooting up as we speak (well it will be once the sun is up).
Just give him some speedibeet or up it if he is already getting, but dont go crazy summer starts tomorrow so it will be battle of the bulges from now on.

Guessing teeth, wormer etc are all up to date and he is acting normal.

(post a pic of him tomorrow) xxxxx

I'd rull out worms to begin with. Also, I wouldn't worry too much, you want him skinny for the spring grass! Make sure it's not worms, could bring on colic.

Good point Gix - he is probably wasting valuable energy sniffing out the ladies.

Don't worry too much, most horses will lose a bit of weight at this time of year. Grass will be here soon,he won't be an RSPCA case don't worry!
