rowy can tell one end of a horse from the other
Default conformation and whats his condition like?

Hi,
Row is now 4 in a month. I measure him yesturday and he is now just under 15hh in front (like 1cm if that) and just over 15hh behind. I'm guessing he will make about 15.1hh.
so tell me if you think his condition is ok and what u think of his confo.

he has a typical appaloosa stock horse back end, which doesnt really match the foront his shoulder is comparitively small, neck a little low set and short could have more elegance and refinement around the throat area, he has a good fore arm a nother apploosa trait, but his has too much toe on his front feet and could possibly do with slightly shorter toes on his hind feet too

he has a good long lined body good saddle position and good depth but could maybe have a slightly longer length of leg, the cannon bones look strong and short but hocks could maybe be slightly larger stronger joint

its likely he will finish bum high anyway as a lot of appaloosas tend to, particuarly if he has any american blood or a heavy QH or stock horse breeding, kizzie is predominantely American breeding so is slightly bum high

Thanks.
City lights he is less than 1/8th appaloosa! So surprised he has so many appy traits! I am a bit worried bout him ending up group high. I am hoping he doesn't end up as bad as he is now. I was thinking it may affect his dressage but in fact he works really well from behind and lifts his fore hand so perhaps it won't b the end of his career
Out of interest do u think he has good confo for dressage?

if he we a contender for young horse classes than i would say his confo isnt ideal, the ones that do well in those are built very naturally uphill and with a really good neck set thats kind of naturally already round, e.g Woodlander Farouche, but if you go and watch alot of the young horse classes a lot of them are built so naturally to go in the way they do

but it doesnt mean he wont be a good dressage horse just casue he isnt built perfectly or particuarly typical of a dressage horse, im part of the british young breeders team which is to do with conformation assesment and grading, as part of the training we got the opportunity to look at some top class WEG, Olympic horses and asses thier comfortmation including things like Wie Weltmeyer, and Fifty Cent who are two of Emma Hindles top horses as well as looking at Grafenstolzt who was selected, although was never on, the german olympic eventing team, you would be amazed at how ordinary and far from perfect some aspects of thier confromation is

I think Appy genes must be pretty potenet King is 50% Appy and he has a lot of the similar characteristics as rowan but the stallion improved on his neck as his is much more elgant and higher than his mothers and also being a jumping stallion gave him a better canter as kizzies can be awkward as she is more of a western bred horse
