Default In-hand outfit

Well I am hopefully taking Arfur to his first in-hand show on the 31st of July but unsure about what outfit to wear. I will be taking him in Youngstock, Best Coloured and maybe one other but I can't remember which one it is now Now clothes wise I have:

Black velvet show hat
White shirt and tie
Black trousers
Leather gaiters and short boots
Canary johds
Beige johds
Brown tweed jacket
Black jacket
Stock shirt
Brown and white spotted stock
White stock

Now out of all that what would be the best combo to wear or what other things should I consider getting. I would quite to look quite proper as the Coloured class could qualify me for Equifest (even though I probs won't go) and he is sooo nicely marked and would like to do him justice by looking proper.

Here is Arfur himself:

Not the best picture and he isn't as hairy as that.

I'd go with the tweed jacket with shirt and tie (what colour is the tie?)
Preferably with some neutral coloured trousers ("slacks" type) but the beige/cream johdies would do.

Then again the black trousers, jacket and white shirt could look ok to.

Is he going trimm,ed and plaited or traditional?

Whatever colour tie would look best really. Hes going traditional as he has a nice tail and mane and theres no way hes been pulled/hogged.

For traditional/native types i'd lean towards the "tweed" look. The good thing about inhand showing is that the dress code is a little more flexible so you can experiment to find out what suits your horse the best.
Black and white might compliment his colouring but then again when you try it out it might just look to confusing as to what is Horse or handler.

Right get you. Will try a few outfits tonight and see what looks best and see about getting some brown trousers.
Thanks Beks

I show Paddy inhand and wear:

When it's really hot:
Blue waistcoat
Blue tie with white spots
White shirt
Black trousers
Black boots
Black gloves
Black cane

If it's cooler:
Green tweed
Black trousers
Black gloves
Black velvet hat
Black cane
Black boots
Blue tie with white spots
White shirt

I would wear the tweed if you can cope if the weather's hot, looks so much smarter with cobbies x
