Thought I'd do an update on Madam Tillster, as I've not posted much since she was diagnosed with pedal osteitis. Unfortunately it seems that when the keratoma grew in her hoof, it damaged the pedal bone So she's spent much of the last 6 months chilling out with her field mates and going back and forth to the veterinary clinic!
Her other favourite pastime - terrorising the yard cat Archie. He has nearly been a light snack a few times
On top of the lameness, Tilly became inexplicably OBSESSED with a new gelding in the next field and went crazy, totally uncontrollable and stressed. I went to get her in from the field and she was so worked up she had given herself colic and had to have the emergency vet
Staring at his stable and into the field next door - which she continued to do for quite some time after he got moved
Cue an uncomfortable late night in the stable waiting for poo Next morning this little innocent face greeted me wondering what all the fuss had been about
Anyway! Since her last set of x-rays, I've got a fantastic new farrier and Tilly is much sounder following a couple of trims. Over the last few months she's been sound enough to start being gently ridden, so we're taking it day by day and enjoying short pootles out together
Enjoying hacking in the Great British *ahem* summertime (OK we were hiding from the rain under a tree )
And just a couple from tonight in her new knee booties. We hacked out for about 30 mins - furthest in 6 months since the lameness began. So I am a very happy Burnie at the moment
Thanks to everyone who's read all that! I still don't know what the long term diagnosis is, but my girl is a lot happier now she can go out exploring again x

she's lovely, reminds me so much of my old ex race horse (apart from he was a gelding!)
