Default Lesson today

And this time the camera was in perfect working order

I was on the gorgeous Caesar again and we focused mainly on flatwork. Pretty much I have lost a good bit of my balance because I havn't had regular lessons in years. My instructer got me to stand up in my stirrups to try strengthen my thigh muscles, this didn't last long as it was hurting my back.

We then did some work without stirrups, thankfully the lovely Caesar is the most comfortable horse I have ever done this on

Excuse the lump on top of the lovely horse

We went on to do some trotting pole work and then onto some small jumpies. Now through most of the lesson Caesar was your typical riding school plod, doing as little as he can get away with but as soon as he realises there is jumping to be done he is like a rocket and a lot of fun

Tiny jumpies

Handsome boy!

lovely pics, he looks like a really nice boy!

I should be ashamed to admit that, despite very hard weekly lessons, i still can't stand in my stirrups for very long . . . about 30seconds!! I don't quite get why though cause riding, i have pretty good balance, just cant stand up!!

you appear to of grown wings! bet the come in handy for getting over those jumps!
Hes a proper nice smart horse, how big is he? looks massive,

the standing up exercise is one i use with a lot of my clients, not so much for strangth but to get them the idea of where the lower leg should be in order for them to stay in balance, when they get it standing walking and trotting i then make them do it through transitions up and down casue im mean, theres only a few that can get it in and out of the canter
