Starsky knows what a horse looks like
Default Poor Seren's moving house again :(

Due to the change of my job Seren is having to move yards again I am putting her onto part livery rather than DIY as it will be nicer for me to be able to go down and just spend time with her, i would happily continue DIY'ing her but some days i dont finish at work till 9pm, so i can go in the morning and see her and they can finish her off.
It's not exactly a new yard, its the yard i took her to when i first got her, it has all just been renovated, it's so much better, new surface in the indoor (no more dust), new liveries (who on my block, i know them and theyre lovely), and a horse seren made friends with at the yard she's at now has just moved there, so she will have a friend there!
Feel really sorry for her moving her again, but its deffinately for the best, they turnout alot more at the yard than when we were first on there, so she will still get turned out plenty, and im hoping it will help with her having others handling her rather than it just being me all the time, and then once she's back in work, having an indoor and an outdoor to ride in will be so much better.
I love the yard were at but its completely the opposite way to my new job so i will pay loads in petrol getting there and it will take me ages to, this way, she will get the time she needs and loads of attention off me.
Hopefully moving next weekend, Poor Seren xxx

You might be surprised - horses are more adaptable than we think.

Good luck

I think it could be very possitive for both of you! It will take a it of pressure off you and mean that the time you spend together is quality time rather than you rushing around her doing jobs. She will also get used to the discipline of other people handling her.

It's amazing how they kinda take us for granted but as long as the other people handli her have the same set of ground rules she will come to realise that it is not just you that is being 'unair' (in the words of kevin the teenager!)

Starsky had a shock yesterday weny friend came down and lunged him (only his second time being lunged by anyone but me!!) but he quickly realised he could get away with no more with her than he could with me! lol!

Good luck!

Thanks girls, I think she'll be fine because she loved it there the first time it just wasn't a nice yard to be on at the time so I'm hoping she'll love it even more this time and like you say ellie I'm really happy to be putting her on part livery where I can do all the 'nice bits' really haha not just cause its nicer but because I think we need more time just me and her where its focussed on her completely xxx

Ah don't worry horses are alot more adaptable than you think and if you plan to go off competing you will be going to new places all of the time.

As long as some sort of routine is kept then she should be happy. Plus she has already been on that yard and so it will be more like she has been on a holiday from there than actually moving to a completely unfamiliar place with no other horses or people she knows.

Good luck with the move!!

I've had Saffy 3yrs and she's been at 9 yards now!! She's only once been unhappy at a yard and we moved fairly quickly. They're very adaptable things
