Question Overreach boots?

I haven't used them on Bailey as I've only noticed him do it very occasionally, probably 3 or 4 times since I got him 6 weeks ago.

I'm just wondering though, when I go on the beach ride would it be sensible to put overreach boots on him? He'll be 'going for it' a bit more than normal (or a lot eeeek!).

I don't think it would hurt if you have a pair handy. The only problem could be them getting sand in them and rubbing?

Choose carefully if you do get some, as lil holley said, sand and water can pull them off, or get sand into the band and rub the skin.

Is he fully over reaching or just clipping his heel?

I would if i were you, he may get a bit excited and it would help prevent him ripping a shoe off!

Just clipping his heels sometimes, that's why i haven't worried about it up to now, just thought if he gets really full of himself on the beach he might do some harm or yes, pull a shoe off!!

it he is doing more fast work or work where he is more likely to tire i would put some on, they are only quite cheap to buy anyway, Ollie wears his all the time as he can overreach quite badly and also shod in a way that will increse his cahnce of pulling them off

I'm re-thinking clipping now too. I wasn't going to yet as he hadn't been sweating but he worked up a real sweat one day last week and I can really see his coat getting fluffy now. Don't want him passing out on the beach lol! It's not until the end of November though so I'll hang on a bit longer.

Think I'll give them a go, will try them in the school first to check he's happy with them. I haven't got any so can anyone recommend any that would be suitable for riding on the beach? - least likely to make sand rub!!
